What is the BLAST Search?
By using Blast search, you can search predicted ORF of
the barley clusters, contigs and singlets from our dataset
generated from partial sequences of barley complete cDNA library
which have similarity with a specific sequence submitted by user.
You may find some barley homolog of a gene you are interested in.
How to use the Blast Search
- 1. Selection of blast program
If you have a nucleotide sequence, you should select "blastn" or "tblastx"
in the "Program select area". In case an organism of your sequence source is
taxonomically distant from barley, you had better to select "tblastn".
If you have an amino acid sequence, you should select "tblastn".
- 2. Input a sequence
You can paste a sequence into the "Sequence input area"
as a plain text or set a file path into "Sequence file path input area".
You can input both a nucleotide sequence and an amino acid sequence,
though you must select appropriate "program" written in the above.
When you input multi FASTA format text or file, multiple results are returned.
- 3. Push "Search" button
After sequence input and program select, you should push "Search" button.
After a few second, system returns the result of the blast search.
Unless you require special search option,
you do not need change optional area
below the "Sequence file path input area"
such like "Filter" or "Matrix".
